Entering with Thanksgiving 🌿

Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.”

I love this verse… because it invites us in. 🤍

Have you ever thought about what it means—His gates?

Bible scholars say that His gates represent coming into the presence of the Lord. When we worship… we are entering. We are stepping into His presence.

In ancient Israel, when God’s people gathered at the temple, they would begin by chanting this psalm. It prepared their hearts. It led them into worship.

And I love that about the Psalms… they teach us how to come before the Lord. They gently guide us. They show us where to begin.

Psalm 100—often called the old 100th—reminds us to start with thanksgiving… and with praise.

Not later. Not after everything is figured out.But first. ✨

And then verse 5 reminds us why…“For the Lord is good. His steadfast love endures forever, and His faithfulness continues to all generations.”

He is good.

He is faithful.

He does not change. đź’›

The Bible teaches us again and again to live with a heart of thanksgiving. And it really is a choice.

We can focus on what’s not right… or we can choose gratitude.

We can hold onto worry… or we can step forward with praise.

There is something so intentional in this verse. We don’t drift into God’s presence… we enter.

I was thinking about this as I walked through a beautiful gate at a castle. I had to choose to walk through it. I could have just stood there… but instead, I stepped in.

And it made me think… how often do we stand at the gate?

Holding our worries… our fears… our “what ifs…”

We can stay there… standing outside.

Or we can step through. 🙏

We can enter with a heart that says, “Thank You, Lord.”

Thank You for Your goodness. Thank You for Your faithfulness. Thank You that You are always with me.

So today… let’s ask ourselves—what gate are we standing in front of?

And what would it look like… to step through it with thanksgiving instead of worry?

As we choose gratitude, something shifts. We begin to see differently. We begin to feel His peace.

And He leads us gently… into His presence. ✨
