The Measure of a Good Day☀️🤍

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24

How do you measure a good day?

Chuck Swindoll recently gave that challenge in a beautiful message. Many of us measure our days by accomplishments completed, goals achieved, and a list we checked off. If everything goes according to plan, we call it a good day. If disappointments come, we may be tempted to call it a bad one.

But Scripture offers a different measuring stick.

A good day is not necessarily a day without challenges. It is a day in which we walked with God.

Jesus had days filled with opposition, misunderstanding, exhaustion, and even sorrow. Yet every day of His earthly life, He lived in perfect obedience to His Father. By heaven’s measure, those were good days.

Perhaps a good day is one in which we notice God’s blessings instead of rushing past them. We choose gratitude over complaining. We extend kindness to someone in need. We remain faithful, even when circumstances are difficult.

At the end of the day, God is less concerned with how much we accomplished and more concerned with who we are becoming.

Are our hearts growing softer? Do our actions bring glory to Him?

As we reflect on today, let’s not just ask, “What did I get done?” Rather, let’s ask, “Did I walk with the Lord? Was I a good servant for Christ?”

That answer may be the truest measure of a good day.

Sometimes the best days are the ones that draw us closer to God. 🤍
