A Blessing Passed Down 🙏

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

— Psalm 133:1

One of the beautiful gifts my parents passed on to my brother Billy and me was the importance of our bond as siblings. When we were little and argue or fight, my parents didn’t rush in to fix it. They stepped back and taught us to work it out — building a bond and never placing us against one another.

I tried to do the same with my children, and it brings me such joy to see the bond they’ve built. Scripture reminds us that “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12).

Wisdom That Walks Beside Us 🌿

My dad passed on godly wisdom to my brother Billy — wisdom he now shares with me. During the days my Dad spent in rehabilitation, Billy couldn’t always be there physically, but he was present through his words and love.

One late night, exhausted on my drive home, Billy reminded me I would never regret showing up — never regret the precious moments built before Dad went to meet Jesus. Billy tenderness carried me through.

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed” (Proverbs 20:18). Now, with Dad no longer here, I often seek Billy for godly, wise counsel. What a gift he is.

A Blessing That Is Spoken 💛

Known as Billy, Brother Billy, and Uncle Billy, he’s quick to make you smile with his wit and exaggerated fishing stories — a gift  definitely passed down from our dad.  He reminds me not to take God-placed people for granted.

I’ve learned that a blessing isn’t fully a blessing until it’s spoken and shared. “Encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Generational Love ✨

My sweet dad went to meet Jesus on January 21. As that day approaches, my heart is filled with gratitude for his love and humble, godly wisdom.

Today’s Monday Message honors the generational love passed from one Easterday family member to another — a quiet reminder of how faith, presence, and spoken blessing shape our lives. 🤍
