🎵 Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus 🌅💛
“Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You.” — Psalm 143:8
Do you enjoy music? I love waking up and listening to The Worship Initiative with Shane & Shane. It’s such a beautiful way to begin the day, trusting God’s truth through His Word and through song.
The songs chosen each morning are gentle reminders of God’s faithfulness, His promises, and His constant presence. Music has always played a significant role throughout Scripture. After crossing the Red Sea, the Israelites sang praises to God for His mighty deliverance. Later, when King Saul was troubled, David played worship music before the Lord, and Saul found relief. (1 Samuel 16:23)
Music has a unique way of reaching places in our hearts that sometimes words cannot. It softens our thoughts, lifts our spirits, and gently turns our focus away from our circumstances and back to God’s sovereignty.
Morning worship also cultivates a heart of gratitude. Just a few moments spent praising God at the beginning of the day can echo throughout everything that follows.
Ephesians 5:19 reminds us:
“Address one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart.”
My Mem-Maw, Mellie, would often remind us of the words from the beloved old hymn:
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus.”
What a beautiful reminder that this is a choice we make every single day.
