“I have calmed and quieted my soul.” — Psalm 131 ✨
How do you quiet your soul?
The Hebrew word translated calmed in this verse literally means to make level. And I love that picture… because in the middle of our busy, full lives, our thoughts and emotions can feel anything but level.
Yet here we see King David choosing something different 🤍
He allows God to level and calm his soul.
Staying calm allows us to think clearly… to respond instead of react… and to make wise decisions. Clarity of mind is so important when we’re facing challenges or navigating uncertainty. In a world that often feels chaotic, a calm mind is truly a gift ✨
And that kind of calm doesn’t come from having everything figured out… it comes from being with God 🤍

In relationship with Him, we discover a deep rest — not because we’re trying to get something from Him, but simply because we are with Him. And in that space… we find a calm and quiet soul.
One of the simplest ways to enter that space is through our breath 🌿
Did you know that 71 times in the Psalms, the writers pause? That pause is an invitation — to slow down, to breathe, to be present with God.
Breathing deeply becomes a way of drawing near to Him…Breathing in His love… and breathing out our worries 🤍
In moments of stress or anxiety, something as simple as a deep breath can gently bring us back into His presence.
I’ve personally found so much peace in what are called breath prayers ✨Using Scripture, we can inhale and exhale with God’s promises.

Breathing in truth…
and breathing out fear 🤍
It’s a beautiful way to oxygenate our soul with God’s peace… and to restore calm from the inside out.
So this week, take a moment…
pause…
breathe deeply…
and allow the peace of God to quiet your soul 🤍✨
