“But our citizenship is in heaven.” — Philippians 3:20

A Quiet Reflection 🕊️

While going through my glass jar of special things, I came across a Lenten book from 1997. Inside was a poem wrote on March 2 by my dad, reflecting on heaven after the passing of his mother, my precious Mamaw Mellie. Reading his words reminded me that heaven is not just a distant place we speak of at funerals or in moments of sorrow.

More Than a Future Hope 🌿

Heaven is a living promise that shapes how we live today. Scripture reminds us that this world is not our final home. We are travelers, passing through, with our hearts set on something far greater.

Words That Bring Comfort 🤍

Jesus spoke of heaven with tenderness and assurance:

“In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” — John 14:2

What comfort those words bring, especially as I reflect on my dad’s poem and the hope of reunion. They remind us that separation is not the end of the story.

Living With Eternity in View ✨

The greatest joy of heaven is not only it's peace or beauty, but the presence of God. Until that day comes, eternity invites us to live differently here — to hold loosely to earthly things and tightly to eternal ones. To walk in love, serve faithfully, and forgive freely, knowing that what we do for Christ echoes into eternity.

A Gentle Invitation 💫

This week, let’s pause and ponder:

What might change if we truly lived with eternity in view?
