“Flowers appear on the earth, the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land.” — Song of Solomon 2:12
I love flowers. 🌸 My precious mom — known lovingly as Miss Daisy — passed on that love to me, especially her love for sunflowers. She was from Valley City, and would take us to the fields near her home.

During peak season, brilliant sunflower fields stretched across the landscape… 🌻Lifting spirits and brightening the horizon in the most beautiful way. People come from all over the world to witness these golden blossoms.
She shared something so meaningful about the sunflower… When everything is dark, it turns… until it finds even the smallest bit of sunlight peeking through the clouds. It chooses to look for the light — and then its petals reflect it.
Wouldn’t it be beautiful if we chose to do that as well? ✨ To turn our back to darkness and negativity… and instead face the brightness of possibility.
In the Bible, flowers symbolize beauty, faith, and growth. 🌼 And sunflowers reflect unwavering faith — always turning toward the light.

Light carries such deep meaning throughout Scripture. It represents God’s presence, His truth, and His guidance. And in Gospel of John 8:12, Jesus reminds us: “I am the light of the world.”
Just like the sunflower seeks the sun… we are invited to seek Him. 🌞
To turn our hearts toward His light — especially in moments when life feels uncertain or heavy.
Sunflowers also teach us resilience. They stand tall through changing seasons, rooted deeply, always reaching upward. A quiet reminder to stay hopeful, to remain steady, and to trust that the light is still there… even when clouds pass through.
A gentle poem to ponder… 🌿
Plant me, Lord, like a sunflower,
deep in the fold of Your will.
Forge my faith in soil’s darkness,
sprout hope as I wait still.
Grow me like a sunflower, Lord,
leaning close toward Your light.
Extend bright rays of direction,
and keep me warm in Your sight.
Use me like a sunflower, Lord, to offer nourishment and cheer. Harvest the spirit’s fruits within me, and remind others… You are near. 💛
Wherever this message finds you today… may you gently turn toward the light. 🌻
